It could definitely warrant a longer examination. One bizarre aspect of it is the way the ironic memes morphed into a genuine affection.
You can tell a prequel kid has grown up when their memes go from dank and ironic to genuine and sincere.
I wonder if the sequel trilogy can be rehabbed through memes. I guess time will tell.
